Construction Engineering Technology
Modern construction technology is rapidly evolving with advancements in technology. Therefore, the program aims to produce civil engineering professionals who are well-prepared to work in both government and private sectors, capable of applying and developing appropriate technologies, adaptable to new technologies for organizational applications, and committed to professional ethics.
The Doctor of Philosophy in Construction Engineering Technology, offered by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Technology, College of Industrial Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, is designed to foster experts with deep academic knowledge and advanced practical skills in civil engineering technology
Doctor of Philosophy Program, 3-year and 4-year programs
ELO2 (S) : Ability to address problems in construction technology, structural and material engineering, geotechnical engineering, engineering management, or other related engineering processes in accordance with professional civil engineering standards, ethics, and the socio-cultural context of Thailand.
ELO3 (S) : Ability to examine, diagnose, and evaluate civil engineering performance and issues, including hypothesis formulation, experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, and synthesis of information to derive sound engineering conclusions.
ELO2 (G/S): Possess knowledge and understanding in economics, investment, construction management, and project administration, with consideration of risks and changes.
ELO2 (G): Ability to conduct research for knowledge development or innovation in construction engineering technology that is appropriate and aligned with national and international socio-economic and technological advancement, and effectively communicate the research as scholarly publications.

Doctor of Philosophy Construction Engineering Technology (3 Year and 4 Year )
Track 1.1: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering and Technology, or Architecture, or a related field as approved by the program committee. Additional coursework may be required as deemed appropriate. The department will announce these requirements prior to student registration. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) from an accredited institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation or the Office of the Civil Service Commission. In addition, applicants must have at least two research publications presented at national or international academic conferences with official proceedings, or at least one research article published in an internationally recognized journal database.
Track 1.2: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering and Technology, or Architecture, or a related field as approved by the program committee. Additional coursework may be required as deemed appropriate, which will be announced by the department prior to student registration. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) from an accredited institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation or the Office of the Civil Service Commission. Furthermore, applicants must have at least two research publications presented at national or international conferences with proceedings, or at least one publication in an internationally indexed journal, or one in a nationally recognized journal in TCI Tier 1.
Track 2.1: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering and Technology, or Architecture, or a related field as approved by the program committee. Additional coursework may be required as deemed appropriate, to be announced by the department prior to student registration. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) from an accredited institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation or the Office of the Civil Service Commission.
Track 2.2: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering and Technology, or Architecture, or a related field as approved by the program committee. Additional coursework may be required as deemed appropriate, to be announced by the department prior to student registration. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) from an accredited institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation or the Office of the Civil Service Commission.
In cases where the applicant does not meet the qualifications specified in items 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.2.3, and 2.2.4, the final decision will rest with the program’s academic committee and must be approved by the program director.Applicants must meet the English language proficiency standards as stipulated in the Graduate School’s announcement on English proficiency requirements for graduate students. Other qualifications shall comply with the university regulations of King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok on graduate studies, B.E. 2560 (2017), and its amendments.
