Master of Engineering program in Welding Engineering Technology (2 years)

The Master of welding engineering technology program is designed for students who need to enhance their multi-dimensional knowledge and skill in welding engineering technology. The student could request the International Welding Engineer (IWE) examination from the Welding Institute of Thailand (WIT) after graduation. The IWE Diploma is an international qualification where diploma holders could work in welding engineering around the world.

Program 2 years 48 Credits

  • PLO 1 (S) : be able to explain fusion welding and non-fusion welding processes, has the proficiency and apply eligible welding processes, has the knowledge and practical skills, be able to analyze and control the welding parameters that affect the welding processes 
  • PLO 2 (S) : be able to explain the behaviors and analyze the metallurgical structure of ferrous and non-ferrous metals welding correctly, proficient in the selection of filler material and welding process for parent metal suitably, correctly apply the heat treatment process in accordance with the international standard.
  • PLO 3 (S) : be able to specify welding joint that appropriate with the static and dynamic loading according to the international standard recommendations, design welding structures, pressure vessels and industrial piping systems in accordance with the international standards correctly, consider the engineering safety factor by calculation method and strength of welded joint analysis.
  • PLO 4 (S) : has the practical knowledge and skill in non-destructive and destructive test, be able to analyze and evaluate the integrity of weldment, chemical properties, mechanical properties, and efficiency of weldment, be able to create welding procedure qualification for control and warranty the quality of welding according to the international standard.
  • PLO 5 (G) : be able to search the research from international database, review and refer the research in accordance with the academic and ethical principles, create the new research problem or innovation which meet the needs of industry and integrate knowledge of welding engineering technology with the interdisciplinary to be an entrepreneur, design research methodology, analyze, discuss, and present research which has the national or international recognition.

  • Qualifications according to the regulations of King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok Regarding graduate college.
  • Graduated with Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Industrial, and Bachelor of Industrial Education in the field of Welding Engineering Technology, Materials Science, and Science or with the approval of the welding engineering technology department.
