OIE and CIT KMUTNB Collaborate on Innovative Construction Industry Development for Enhanced Competitiveness in Thailand

On August 7, 2024, the Office of Industrial Economics (OIE), in collaboration with the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), organized a focus group meeting aimed at developing strategic pathways to strengthen Thailand’s competitive edge in the innovative construction sector. The event featured Ms. Siripen Kiatfuengfoo, Deputy Director of the OIE, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chetthawut Phumipipatphong, Associate Dean for Research and Innovation Promotion at KMUTNB and project leader.

The project aspires to enhance the quality of life and support the development of related industries, including construction materials (cement, steel, other building materials), machinery, energy, transportation, finance, insurance, management, and employment sectors. The primary objectives are to study and create a roadmap for the future of innovative construction in response to global trends, and to develop short, medium, and long-term strategies for advancing the industry.

This initiative is essential to achieve tangible advancements in Thailand’s innovative construction industry, ultimately driving and expanding economic growth across other potential industrial sectors to bolster Thailand’s overall industrial competitiveness.
